Lünen night‑shift patrol discovers pistol and sexual‑enhancement drugs during store inspections
During a special night‑shift patrol in Lünen on 26 June, municipal order officers conducting commercial checks between 18:00 and 03:00 found a blank‑firing pistol fitted with a silencer and several packs of sexual‑enhancement medication displayed for sale. Police were summoned and the shop owner said the medication was intended for personal use only.
The seizure adds to a growing pattern: in 2025 authorities reported confiscating 30 packs of the medication, alongside 436 illegal vaping devices and 340 nicotine‑pouch cans. The operation also dealt with unrelated incidents, including a tense situation at Seepark Horstmar and extensive illegal parking at nearby lakeside swimming areas. Municipal services chief Matthias Bork highlighted the overall improvement in compliance, noting that illegal vapes were now only found sporadically.
The findings underscore ongoing regulatory challenges for local businesses, while illustrating the effectiveness of regular night‑time inspections in maintaining public order.
