Lünen restores online services and announces walkway closures

The city of Lünen has restored its online appointment booking system for the citizens' office, the foreigners' registration office, and the nationality office. The system had been temporarily deactivated earlier in the week due to a potential security risk involving an information security incident at a technical service provider. While investigations were ongoing, the city reported no evidence that data had been accessed or misused, though contact details provided during reservations may have been affected.

Separately, the Lippesteg walkway under Kurt-Schumacher-Straße in Lünen will undergo temporary closures for traffic safety improvements. On Monday and Tuesday, September 7 and 8, the path will be closed to pedestrians and cyclists from 7:30 AM until approximately 2:00 PM to allow for the replacement of 25 floorboards. An alternative crossing via the Kurt-Schumacher-Straße/Engelsstraße intersection at Engelswiese has been designated for those affected.
