Lünen to host 49th Kanalfest on Datteln‑Hamm Canal in August 2026

Lünen’s Bergmannssiedlung "Am Kanal" will host the 49th Kanalfest on the Datteln‑Hamm Canal on 1–2 August 2026. The two‑day event takes place between the Kanalbrücke Bebelstraße and Liebknechtstraße.

The programme starts Saturday at 15:00 with a children’s fest featuring games, a bounce house and prizes, followed an hour later by the traditional Fassanstich opening. DJ Moussa provides music from 18:00 until midnight, while live performances by musician Fritz run from 15:00 to 18:00. Food stalls will serve pea soup, coffee, a large cake buffet and self‑baked waffles. The festival’s patron is Jochen Gefromm.
