LNG infrastructure projects see increased investment and interest

The liquefied natural gas (LNG) sector is seeing significant activity through both private investment and public infrastructure tenders. In Singapore, Equatorial Marine Fuel Management is planning to reinvest 2026 profits into new infrastructure and equipment. The company, which accounts for approximately 10% of Singapore's maritime fuel volume, anticipates a surge in LNG demand starting in 2028 as new production units come online and the number of dual-fuel vessels increases globally.

In Cyprus, eight companies have expressed interest in a €180 million project to complete the LNG import terminal at Vasilikos. The Public Natural Gas Company (DEFA) aims to award the contract by summer 2027. Bidders include AVAX, PETROJET, China Harbour Engineering, TERNA, ECOnnect Energy, Saipem, Baran International, and ARCHIRODON. The selection process will prioritize technical competence, experience, and financial stability.
