Lạng Sơn advances border gate development for Vietnam-China trade

Lạng Sơn province has initiated development plans for the Chi Ma border gate and the Dong Dang - Lạng Sơn Border Gate Economic Zone to bolster regional economic growth and international connectivity.

Following approval from the Prime Minister, the Chi Ma border gate development roadmap aims to transform the area into a modern, smart gateway by 2045. The plan focuses on developing border trade, logistics, services, and tourism while ensuring national defense and security. Initial priorities include upgrading transportation infrastructure, such as the Chi Ma - Co Sa connection, as well as digital and technical infrastructure.

Simultaneously, the Dong Dang - Lạng Sơn Border Gate Economic Zone has undergone planning adjustments. Spanning 39,400 hectares across eight communes and wards, the zone is designed to serve as a major commercial, industrial, and tourism hub for the Northern Midlands and Mountains region. As a strategic gateway on the Nanning (China) – Hanoi economic corridor, the zone is expected to strengthen trade and economic exchange between Vietnam, China, and ASEAN nations.
