Hanoi food company director uses ChatGPT to mislabel pork products
Authorities in Lạng Sơn and Hanoi have investigated a case involving fraudulent food labeling. Investigations revealed that Lê Đức Tùng, director of Z FOODDELI Co., Ltd. in Hanoi, used ChatGPT to design labels for pork products, falsely branding them as “Khâu nhục Thất Khê Lạng Sơn” (Thất Khê Lạng Sơn braised pork).
According to police reports, Tùng initially produced Sichuan-style pork trotters in canned tins, but the products failed to sell. After noticing the popularity of Lạng Sơn specialty braised pork online, he used AI-generated labels to rebrand his existing stock. Approximately 500 products were manufactured, with 150 sold via social media before customers reported receiving bone and skin instead of the advertised specialty.
Lạng Sơn market management authorities confirmed that no legitimate production facilities for this specific branded product exist within the province. The company ceased production and destroyed remaining stock on October 2, 2026. Hanoi police are continuing to process the case to clarify legal violations.
