Lạng Sơn recovery efforts underway after deadly floods and landslides
Heavy rainfall and flooding in Lạng Sơn province, following Typhoon Narra, have caused significant damage, including two deaths and severe landslides in Chi Lăng and Văn Lãng communes. The disaster impacted approximately 3,334 hectares of crops and resulted in the loss of about 100 livestock and 6,000 poultry. Infrastructure damage is extensive, with roughly 1,040 reported points of landslides and flooding causing transport disruptions.
Local authorities and military forces are actively engaged in recovery efforts. The Lạng Sơn Provincial Police opened the An Sơn guest house to provide free temporary shelter for affected residents. In Kỳ Lừa, military and police personnel, alongside local youth unions, have worked to clean up debris and disinfect public areas, including Kỳ Lừa Market, to prevent health risks.
In Tràng Định commune, soldiers from Radar Station 59 have been deployed to assist residents by clearing mud, debris, and fallen trees from roads, residential areas, and schools. Local forces are also assisting farmers in transporting agricultural products through flooded and landslide-prone areas to ensure they can reach markets. Efforts continue to restore essential services, including electricity, water, and medical care.
