Lào Cai implements digital transformation and innovation initiatives

Lào Cai province is implementing a series of activities to mark National Digital Transformation Day. Through October 2026, the province aims to popularize digital skills and support businesses and citizens in adopting new technologies. Key initiatives include the launch of the province’s first “digital village” in Bát Xát commune and the “Digital Citizen” online competition.

To support economic growth, the province is providing training for small and medium enterprises, cooperatives, and startups. These programs focus on digital management, artificial intelligence, e-commerce, and digital payments. Additionally, local authorities are guiding residents on using online public services and secure data exploitation.

Parallel to these digital initiatives, Lào Cai is refining its financial mechanisms to bolster science, technology, and innovation. Under Resolution 27/2026/NQ-HĐND, the province is improving resource allocation across the entire research lifecycle—from initial idea and testing to production and commercialization. This includes funding for specific agricultural research projects, such as developing new lotus varieties and early-ripening lychee varieties, to create value-added production chains.
