Loano featured in Rai Cultura’s ‘Radix’ program

The Rai Cultura program ‘Radix’, hosted by Edoardo Sylos Labini, will feature the city of Loano in an upcoming episode on Rai3. The program explores the city’s deep maritime traditions and its historical connection to the Doria family, who held the area as a fiefdom for approximately five centuries.

Key historical aspects include the legacy of Admiral Gianandrea Doria and the city’s links to the Risorgimento, specifically as the birthplace of Rosa Raimondi, the mother of Giuseppe Garibaldi. The episode will also cover local maritime history at the Museum of the Sea and Marina, as well as contemporary creative influences in the region.
