Lobas Alimerka Oviedo prepares for return to Spain's top women's handball league

Lobas Alimerka Oviedo have begun pre‑season training ahead of their comeback to the Liga Guerreras Iberdrola after earning promotion. Coach Manolo Díaz said the objective is to stay in the elite division despite limited financial resources, noting the club secured last‑minute funding to confirm its place.

The squad retains most of last season’s core and added three new players – Lucía Vacas, Claudia Juan and Andrea Roda – to improve consistency. Oviedo will face Super Amara Bera Bera in a friendly on Saturday at the Florida Arena, with another match against Grafometal Sporting La Rioja scheduled for Friday, 14 August. The team’s league debut is set for 9 September in Granollers.
