Lobor hosts 20th Franjo Horvat Kiš Days to mark 150th anniversary

The 20th edition of the Franjo Horvat Kiš Days was held in Lobor to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the birth of the renowned Croatian writer and travel writer. The event featured the 20th Croatian Literary Travelogue competition, which received over 20 entries from 17 authors.

Tomislav Marijan Bilosnić was awarded the main prize for the literary travelogue category. The manifestation is a collaborative effort between the Kajkavsko spravišče from Zagreb, the Municipality of Lobor, and the Franjo Horvat Kiš Association for Cultural Creativity. The event aims to honor the landscape, local heritage, and travel writing in Croatian literature while preserving the memory of the author, whose works such as ‘Viđeno i neviđeno’ and ‘Istarski puti’ are highly regarded.

The program included literary and art competitions for children, highlighting an increasing interest in the event among younger generations. The manifestation operates under the patronage of the Ministry of Culture and Media.
