Lobos BUAP wrestling academy wins 10 medals at CONADE National Olympics
The Lobos BUAP wrestling academy captured 10 of the 28 medals earned by the Puebla delegation at the 2026 CONADE National Olympics. In the 2026 ANUIES National University Championships, the team finished fifth among 65 higher‑education institutions, winning a total of 10 medals – one gold, three silver and six bronze.
Athletes Evelyn Katy Sotarriba Sánchez, a psychology student, and Brian López Barroso, an electronics student, represented the academy at the FISU World University Championship Combat Sports 2026 in Brasília, Brazil. The program, founded 45 years ago by coach Eduardo Contreras Dardón, is now led by veteran trainer Jorge Rosas Díaz. Angélica Martínez added two silver medals to the tally, highlighting the continued success of the academy’s long‑standing training legacy.
