Lobos hosts ninth Disability Congress focused on autonomy
The ninth Disability Congress took place at the Teatro Italiano in Lobos, focusing on supports for autonomy and the right to personal decision-making. Organized by the Municipal Council for Disability, the event drew approximately 300 participants from various cities across the Province of Buenos Aires, as well as from Salta and Chaco provinces.
The congress featured four primary speakers: multimedia designer Iván Davidovich, who presented on “La voz de la mirada”; radio host Gonzalo Giles, who spoke on “Cuerpos que no piden permiso”; Professor Fabiola Vega, who discussed augmentative and alternative communication systems; and local resident Emiliano Huebra.
During the opening ceremony, María Luisa Peredo, president of the Municipal Council for Disability, emphasized the importance of teamwork and the council's nine-year commitment to defending the rights of people with disabilities and promoting effective, actionable inclusion.
