Loc Yen Ancient Village hosts areca palm leaf fashion show

During the 2026 Loc Yen Ancient Village Festival, a unique fashion show featuring designs made from areca palm leaves was held in Thanh Binh Commune, Da Nang. The event, titled “Areca Palm Leaf Creativity and Loc Yen - Thanh Binh Tourism Development Connection Day,” utilized the natural paths through golden rice fields as a runway.

The showcase featured 23 ecological fashion designs created by students from Duy Tan University. These modern collections, including the “Everyday Collection,” integrated areca palm leaves with fabrics like raw silk and linen to create contemporary pieces such as maxi dresses, pleated skirts, and crop tops.

The program also highlighted local heritage, with women from Thanh Binh Commune opening the event in traditional attire, including ao ba ba, ao dai, and Kor ethnic clothing, complemented by areca palm leaf accessories like hats, bags, and fans.
