LOCA launches locally grown Dutch tea in Albert Heijn

Dutch tea producer LOCA has launched its new tea brand in all Albert Heijn supermarkets. The tea is grown locally on the company's own fields in Dongen and Zundert.

According to founder and director Wouter Eckelmans, the production process focuses on quality by using only the top buds and youngest leaves of the tea plant. Unlike mass-produced bulk tea that often uses artificial aromas to mask low quality, LOCA's tea is rolled and dried immediately after harvest to preserve natural essential oils and polyphenols without adding artificial scents or flavor beads.

By processing the leaves close to the cultivation sites, the company aims to maintain the pure flavor and health benefits of the tea, preventing the bitterness often associated with lower-quality products.
