Local administrative and social service updates in Upper Palatinate

In Auerbach, the town hall will close on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, to allow administration to prepare for the dispatch of improvement contribution notices. Regular opening hours will resume on Thursday, October 22. Additionally, the ‘Tisch der Vereine’ event scheduled for that day will be relocated from the Kolpingsaal to the second-floor meeting room of the town hall at 6:00 PM. The event will feature a lecture by Dr. Lars Peetz regarding liability issues for volunteer associations.

In Amberg, the 30th Forum Frühe Hilfen was held at the Amberg-Sulzbach district office to discuss the operations of crisis services in Bavaria. Katjenka Wild, technical lead of the Upper Palatinate control center for the Bavarian Crisis Services, presented the service's role in providing 24/7 support for individuals facing psychological, social, or suicidal crises. The service offers free, anonymous counseling and utilizes a multi-professional team of psychologists, social workers, and psychiatric specialists to provide immediate intervention and support.
