Local administrative proposals target urban management in Pantelleria and Magliano
In Pantelleria, a proposal has been made to establish a dedicated municipal office for the historic center and urban greenery. The initiative aims to move away from fragmented, occasional maintenance toward a stable administrative path with clear responsibilities. The goal is to ensure continuous care for urban decorum, public space maintenance, accessibility, and the preservation of the island’s unique architectural identity.
In Magliano, the movement Agenda Partecipata has proposed a new management model for the Parco della Scienza following a site inspection that revealed poor lighting and a lack of security. To revitalize the area, the group suggests forming a consortium of local public business operators. This consortium would manage the park through a formal agreement, potentially using private resources to establish a kiosk. In exchange for management rights, the consortium would be responsible for cleaning, greenery maintenance, security, and organizing community events.
