Local animal incidents reported in Monza and Montalbano

In Monza, a man allegedly abandoned a three-year-old Cane Corso named Cesar at the gates of the local animal shelter. The individual reportedly approached an ENPA official claiming he could no longer manage the dog. After the official offered various support options, including food, medical assistance, or professional training, the man waited for the official to turn away before tying the dog to the shelter gate and fleeing. Local police have been notified to file a formal complaint for animal abandonment. The dog is currently undergoing health checks before being made available for adoption.

In Montalbano, a wolf was reported trapped in a fenced courtyard before successfully escaping through an entrance gate. While no people or domestic animals were harmed in this specific instance, the event follows recent livestock attacks in the Ferrara area, including an incident at a riding center that resulted in the deaths of several animals. In response, local authorities have announced the creation of a task force to provide guidance to farmers on securing livestock and to seek discussions with the Emilia-Romagna region regarding wolf management and prevention.
