Local Argentine sports events promote community in Chivilcoy and Chacabuco

The women's volleyball team of Club Atlético 9 de Julio earned promotion to the Primera B division after an unbeaten run in its zone, a semifinal win over Sarmiento de Junín (25‑12, 25‑20) and a narrow loss in the final to Club Porteño de Bragado. Coach Luz Picardo led the squad, which featured players such as Virginia Hayes and Magali Cerasa, and the team will compete at the higher level next season.

Over the same weekend, the city of Chacabuco hosted a packed sports agenda, including the Maratón Aniversario, a regional Jiu‑Jitsu tournament, the futsal finals and the start of the qualifying stage of the International Tennis Tournament at Club Los Marinos.
