Local authorities in Poland invest in emergency preparedness and infrastructure repairs
In Rawa Mazowiecka, the Rawski District has strengthened its crisis response capabilities through the Population Protection and Civil Defense Program. Key investments include a power generator with a 2,500-liter fuel tank for the St. Spirit Hospital to ensure continuous medical operations during power outages. Additionally, the district purchased a mobile water purification station and two 6,000-liter mobile drinking water tanks, totaling 238,005 PLN, to combat potential water infrastructure failures or natural disasters.
In Świnoujście, inspections at the Fishing Base on Dworcowa Street revealed significant technical failures. The Municipal Roads and Navigation Management, which took over the facility in July 2026, reported leaking roofs, clogged drainage systems, and mold growth in several buildings. Electrical inspections identified faulty installations in social and storage buildings, including damaged residual current devices and non-functional external sockets. Furthermore, only one of 18 external streetlights was operational, and the transformer station showed signs of neglect, such as dust-clogged ventilation grates.
