Local candidates debate municipal issues in San Ramon and Martinsville

In San Ramon, District 4 City Council candidates Marisol Rubio and Jeffrey Joh participated in a public forum to discuss city development, budget priorities, and economic growth. Rubio, the incumbent and Vice Mayor, highlighted her achievements and regional committee work since taking office in 2022. Joh, a challenger, emphasized his lifelong connection to the city and his desire to provide a fresh perspective.

In Martinsville, five City Council candidates addressed the city’s ongoing municipal challenges during an election forum. The city has faced a Virginia State Police investigation, lawsuits, and leadership disputes over the past two years. Incumbent Mayor L. C. Jones is the only incumbent seeking reelection. Challengers Michael Greene, Chad Hall, Tina Jenkins, and Charles Niederstadt discussed the need for functional government, collaboration with Henry County, and addressing local issues such as poverty and food insecurity.
