Local charities in Northamptonshire and Shropshire launch festive appeals

Various community initiatives are underway in the United Kingdom to support local charities during the Christmas season. In Northampton, the Vulcan Works coworking space is participating in the Mother Christmas present drive. To encourage donations, the workspace is offering free access to its facilities every Tuesday and Thursday throughout November and December for individuals who donate a new, unwrapped gift for children and young adults in need.

In Shropshire, Lingen Davies Cancer Support is receiving regional assistance through several channels. Artist Meg Hawkins has released a bespoke range of Christmas cards, with 10% of profits directed to the charity. Additionally, Hawkins secured a £3,333 grant from the British Allied Trades Federation UK to support the charity’s £5 million Sunflower Appeal. Other local contributors include the artisan retailer Moonshine & Fuggles, which continues to donate a percentage of sales from its locally produced gin to the organization.
