Local city councils approve various infrastructure and road safety projects

Local city councils in Georgia and Texas have approved various infrastructure and safety projects.

The Tucker City Council approved four contracts for the U.S. 78 and Mountain Industrial Boulevard safety improvement project. The initiative, involving the Georgia Department of Transportation and other partners, aims to reduce crash risks and improve traffic flow through ramp realignment, new traffic signals, and median installations. Additionally, the council applied for funding via the Georgia Outdoor Stewardship Program to support improvements at Henderson Park.

In Kyle, Texas, the City Council moved forward with the Bunton Creek Road and Center Street off-system projects. Despite discussions regarding budget and sidewalk dimensions, the council prioritized the Bunton Creek project, which includes expanding the road to four lanes and adding shared-use paths and sidewalks to enhance connectivity and safety.
