Local Clothing Fairs Promote Sustainable Shopping in Argentina and Mexico

The first edition of Feria Güemes took place on 9 August in Chimbas, San Juan, Argentina. Organized by Milagros, the event featured more than 30 stalls offering almost‑new garments—mostly textiles with one or two prior uses—free entry and a focus on collaborative consumption, family recreation and waste reduction.

From 20 to 23 August, Mexico City hosted the Gran Bazar de la Mezclilla 2026 in the Andador Hidalgo of Tláhuac. The bazaar showcased a wide range of affordable clothing, including denim jeans, jackets, shirts and dresses made by small‑scale designers from Nextlalpan, a community known as the “capital of denim.” Visitors could also enjoy food stalls while supporting local Mexican producers.
