Local commemorative runs held in Czech Republic

Various commemorative running events took place in the Czech Republic to mark historical milestones.

In Prague, the Výmolova Primary and Nursery School celebrated its 100th anniversary with a symbolic 100 km relay race at the Dívčí hrady landscape park. The event involved 175 participants, each running 1 km to reach the collective goal. The school's centenary celebrations will continue with a school academy in November 2026 and a formal ball in February 2027.

In Příbram, the ninth annual 'Run for the Republic' was held near the Vojna Memorial to commemorate the 108th anniversary of the founding of Czechoslovakia. Under the patronage of President Petr Pavel, the event included a 5 km race, children's activities, and non-competitive walks. This year's run specifically honored Antonín Sum, a resistance fighter and political prisoner, linking physical activity with the remembrance of historical values and freedom.
