Local commerce initiatives launched in Mazatlán and Fuerteventura

Various regional authorities and business organizations have launched campaigns to stimulate local economies and support small businesses.

In Mazatlán, Mexico, the National Chamber of Commerce and Tourism Services (Canaco Servytur) has introduced the ‘Consume Local’ project. President Francis Cázares Oliveros stated the initiative aims to revitalize the local economy and prevent business closures by encouraging residents to reduce online shopping with foreign companies in favor of local establishments.

In Fuerteventura, Spain, the Cabildo de Fuerteventura has presented the fifth edition of the ‘Yo compro en Fuerteventura’ campaign. Supported by a 400,000 euro investment, the program utilizes a consumption voucher system that allows citizens to save 50% on purchases at participating stores. The initiative, organized in collaboration with the Federation of Urban Areas of the Canary Islands (FAUCA), seeks to reinforce the competitiveness of small businesses and ensure economic spending remains within the island.
