Local communities invest in new outdoor recreational facilities
Local municipalities in Croatia and Bulgaria are implementing projects to enhance outdoor community spaces and recreational facilities.
In Selnik, Croatia, the Ludbreg city administration has added three new playground sets to existing facilities. The project, valued at 16,666.67 euros, received 10,000 euros in co-financing from the Ministry of Demography and Assimilation. The initiative aims to provide safer, modern, and educational play areas to improve the quality of life for families in smaller settlements.
In Svilengrad, Bulgaria, the municipality has installed specialized outdoor tables designed for board games such as chess, checkers, and backgammon. The 6,100 euro investment, funded by the municipal budget, includes reinforced concrete tables with mosaic surfaces and wooden seats. These tables are being placed in central pedestrian areas and local parks to encourage social interaction and outdoor leisure for residents of all ages.
