Local community and sporting events scheduled in the Netherlands

Various local community and sporting events are scheduled to take place in the Netherlands. In Wommels, the ‘Wommels Bloeit’ program offers activities on Wednesday, August 26, including morning swimming at the marina, sports at Sportcentrum Akkermans, and a community gathering at the Strúntún. The library will also host a creative session, and a night walk is planned for the evening.

In Wassenaar, the Freek van Os Zwemloop and the Barnwood Duintrail are set for Sunday, August 30, at the Wassenaarse Slag. The swim-run event, now in its 31st year, features participants swimming in the sea followed by a run through the dunes and along the beach. The Wassenaarse Reddingsbrigade will oversee the swimming portion to ensure safety. For those preferring not to swim, the separate 10-kilometer Duintrail offers a running course through the dunes.
