Local community competitions announced in Poland

Two distinct local community competitions have been announced in Poland.

In Nakło nad Notecią, the Municipal and City Office is hosting the ‘Choinkowa EKOZDOBA 6’ ecological contest. Aimed at preschool and primary school students, the competition requires participants to create Christmas tree ornaments using exclusively recycled materials, such as plastic packaging, cans, paper, and cardboard. Natural materials are permitted as additions, but ready-made craft supplies are prohibited. Entries must be submitted to the Municipal Office by December 1, 2026, with winning decorations to be displayed at the Nakło nad Notecią Town Hall.

Separately, the St. Matthew the Apostle Parish in Klwów has launched a competition titled ‘Krzyże i Kapliczki w naszej parafii’ (Crosses and Shrines in our Parish). Open to all ages, the contest challenges participants to identify the locations of various crosses, shrines, and figures within the parish boundaries using photos posted on the parish website. Prizes include a mini-tower, a wireless speaker, and wireless headphones. The competition concludes on October 31.
