Local community developments in Pavia and Lucca

In Pavia, the publication “il Ticino” has highlighted several regional developments, including a Legambiente proposal for the Navigliaccio project described as a unique opportunity for the city. Other local news includes religious ceremonies within the Diocese of Pavia, such as the installation of new clergy and regional meetings for consecrated women. Additionally, the city hosted the second edition of the “Pavia Internazionale” event and a reportage exhibition at the Broletto.

In Lucca, architect Claudio Pardini Cattani has issued an appeal titled “Lucca is not a commodity, but a city to live in.” The document, signed by various citizens and intellectuals, warns of a silent transformation threatening the city's historical and social character. The appeal cites the proliferation of short-term tourist rentals, rising real estate prices, the displacement of local families, and the disappearance of neighborhood shops as primary concerns that risk turning the city into a space for consumption rather than a community for residents.
