Bieszczady Mountains prepare for autumn tourism and safety patrols

As autumn arrives in Poland, various regional activities and seasonal advice are emerging. In the Bieszczady Mountains, the peak period for viewing autumn colors is expected between late September and early October. Popular destinations include Tarnica, Połonina Wetlińska, and Połonina Caryńska, though visitors are advised to check updates from the Bieszczady National Park regarding current conditions.

To ensure safety during this busy season, the Police and Forest Guard have launched the ‘Jesień 26’ (Autumn 26) operation. Running until October 18, 2026, these joint patrols in the Bieszczady region aim to prevent accidents and enforce forest regulations for mushroom pickers and hikers.

In other areas, seasonal lifestyle updates include gardening tips for transplanting hydrangeas—recommending a window of 4-6 weeks before ground frost—and floral arrangement techniques using the ‘three heights rule’ for autumn containers. Local community centers and recreational facilities, such as CRW Dolinka, are also promoting autumn wellness activities including swimming and sauna sessions.
