Local community events and seasonal activities in Blankenberge, Amstelveen, and Schoonderbuken
Various local community activities are scheduled across Belgium and the Netherlands. In Blankenberge, children aged 4 to 8 can participate in a walking activity with Minipiet starting November 23. Participants can use a walking booklet to follow a route through the city to help Minipiet reach the Pietenklas. Booklets are available at the youth service or De Sportdoze.
In Amstelveen, Sinterklaas is scheduled to arrive on November 14. The procession will depart from Sportlaan at 10:15 AM, traveling through several streets toward the Handelsplein, which will serve as the reception site due to construction at the Stadsplein. The event includes musical performances, dancing, and the presence of gluten-free Pieten to accommodate children with celiac disease.
In Schoonderbuken, students at the Sint-Jozefschool have welcomed a spider named Pukkie into their kindergarten classroom. The spider has become a school mascot, with students participating in learning opportunities about spiders by catching flies to feed it.
