Local community events held in Mikołów and Lednogóra

In Mikołów, the first edition of the Mikołów Dziady Festival, titled ‘Powrót Dziadów’, was held to celebrate ancient Slavic traditions. Organized by the Municipal Public Library in Mikołów and the Krawczyk 21 Association, the event featured a torchlight procession, traditional songs, craft workshops, and rituals around a bonfire. The program included educational elements provided by ethnologist and cultural anthropologist Professor Grzegorz Odoja, alongside musical performances by the group Dunajowi.

In the Lednogóra and Owieczki regions, volunteer fire departments (OSP) are organizing a ‘Firefighter Saint Nicholas’ event scheduled for December 5. Local administrative districts (sołectwa) interested in hosting the visit for children are required to register by October 25 to assist with route planning. Organizers are also requesting donations of sweets and small gifts to distribute during the holiday visits.
