Local community events scheduled across Kitakyushu and Okinawa

Various community events are scheduled for October 2026 across different regions in Japan.

In Kitakyushu's Ogura Kita Ward, several civic centers will host diverse programs. Highlights include a history lecture on shrine visits at Izumidai Civic Center, a workshop on local 'Nukataki' cuisine at Sabumaru Civic Center, and a biological survey of the Shiro River at Imaichi Civic Center. Additionally, the Kibune 2026 Lantern Festival will take place at Kibune Elementary School, and a musical event featuring Showa-era songs is planned at Ogura Chuo Civic Center.

In Chatan, Okinawa, the 'Chatan Night Market' will be held at the Aeon Chatan parking area on October 3 and 4, 2026. The event will feature stage performances, including dance groups and street performers, alongside various food stalls and kitchen cars offering local specialties like Okinawaそば and tacos. Traditional festival booths, such as goldfish scooping, will also be available for visitors.
