Local community festivals held in Sint-Lievens-Houtem and Diegem

Local communities in Belgium held celebrations aimed at fostering social connection. In Sint-Lievens-Houtem, the Balei neighborhood celebrated the fifth anniversary of its annual Baleifeest on August 29. Approximately 75 residents attended the event, which featured live music by artist Dave, a bouncy castle, face painting, and a pétanque competition. The jubilee edition included a meal of steak or scampi for adults and meatballs for children.

In Diegem, the fourth edition of the Diegem Klinkt festival was organized by the Pastorijvrienden in the pastorale garden. With over 220 participants registered, the event focuses on connecting residents through a barbecue and live music, including smooth jazz from the group Sophisticated and performances by Blue Thrill and a local DJ. Organizers noted that the event serves as a way to maintain the village atmosphere and facilitate reunions across different generations.
