Local community initiatives drive economic development in Tangerang and Semarang

In Tangerang, the City Government, through the Food Security Agency (DKP), is testing Tabela (direct seed planting) technology to boost agricultural productivity. This initiative, which includes the use of PMAS agricultural tools, aims to reduce operational costs and labor requirements for farmers facing limited urban farmland. The program is supported by seed and equipment assistance from the central government.

In Semarang, the Mangunharjo coastal community is utilizing renewable energy to enhance local micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). Through the Pondok Mami Sera group, residents are processing milkfish into value-added food products. This production facility is powered by solar power plants (PLTS) to operate machinery such as milkfish floss processors and rice mills. The initiative is part of a corporate social responsibility program supported by Pertamina Patra Niaga.
