Local community initiatives launched in Catania

The Archdiocese of Catania's University Pastoral Office has launched a new series of meetings titled ‘Builders of Communion, Not Architects of Babel.’ Aimed at university faculty and technical-administrative staff, the initiative uses the encyclical Magnifica Humanitas by Pope Leo XIV as a foundation to discuss the impact of artificial intelligence on human dignity, social relations, and individual responsibility.

Separately, Arcigay Catania has elected a new leadership body following its territorial and provincial congresses. Daniele Russo has been appointed president, with a mandate to focus on listening, inclusion, and political training. The new board aims to support marginalized groups, including trans individuals, women, and people with disabilities, amidst a challenging national and international political climate.
