Local community initiatives promote reading in Ebenweiler and Ternberg

Educational and community organizations in Ebenweiler, Germany, and Ternberg, Austria, are launching initiatives to encourage reading among children.

In Ebenweiler, the local primary school library is opening its doors to students. The library will be accessible on specific Tuesdays throughout November and December, allowing children to browse, borrow, and return books. The community is also invited to donate books to the collection.

In Ternberg, the public library is implementing a monthly visit program for students at the Ternberg primary school. To support this, the library recently provided first-grade students with personalized book bags to transport their loans. Starting in January, students will participate in a program to earn a library license, which uses creative and playful methods to teach children how to navigate the library and engage with literature.
