Local community initiatives recognized in Rybnik and Rawicz

The city of Rybnik has announced a competition to honor local seniors and those who support them. The Mayor of Rybnik will present two titles: ‘Senior of the Year,’ recognizing seniors active in the local community, and ‘Ambassador of Seniors of the Year,’ awarded to individuals or entities that promote senior activation and intergenerational bonds. Nominations can be submitted by interested individuals, district councils, or non-governmental organizations between September 11 and September 21, 2026.

In Rawicz, the results of the ‘Rowerowa Stolica Polski’ (Cycling Capital of Poland) competition were summarized during the Active Residents' Picnic. Residents of Rawicz collectively cycled 102,425.9 km, earning the town 37th place in the national classification. Top individual cyclists included Karol Pięta in the men's category and Eleonora Młoda in the women's category. The RAWBUD Rawicz company was named the most active company, while the School and Kindergarten Complex in Słupia Kapitulna won the most active school award, receiving 1,000 PLN for educational purposes.
