Local community stories in Ponferrada and Arteixo

In Ponferrada, Teresa Centeno has created a themed window display using Nancy dolls to celebrate the 32nd anniversary of Morticia, a well-known gothic rock pub. The display, located on La Puebla Avenue, recreates various corners of the establishment to mark the occasion near All Saints' Day.

In Arteixo, Lorena Suárez has operated Chycoria, a specialty coffee and breakfast establishment, for nearly a decade. After leaving the textile industry in 2017, Suárez established the cafe to provide high-quality breakfast options and specialty coffee. The business includes a brunch-focused space called Garden and employs a team of 15 people.
