Local community updates in Sept-Îles and Berck-sur-Mer

In Sept-Îles, municipal council members met on August 24 to discuss several local infrastructure and community matters. Key decisions include a $74,900 contract awarded to Extermination KJ Côte-Nord for the decontamination and cleaning of the Jean-Marc-Dion performance hall roof due to pigeon droppings. Additionally, a $130,000 contract was granted to Équipements Nordiques for planned repairs to a chemical tank at the city's drinking water plant.

Mayor Benoit Méthot also highlighted the success of various summer festivals, including Festi-GrÎles, Vieux-Quai en Fête, Innu Nikamu, Festival country Mamu Moisie, and AfriCa Fest, praising the volunteers who made them possible.

In Berck-sur-Mer, a collective beach cleaning event is scheduled for Tuesday, August 25. Organized by ‘Mon Village Vacances’, the initiative aims to raise awareness about marine environmental protection. The event will include a waste collection session followed by an educational workshop on coastal biodiversity for participants.
