Local councilors in Brazil address infrastructure concerns
In Araras, São Paulo, Councilor Mário Corrochel Neto, known as Bonezinho, has called for urgent repairs at the Municipal Funeral Home. Following an inspection that revealed damaged sanitary seats, inadequate ventilation, and broken furniture, the councilor announced plans to allocate part of his mandatory amendment to fund improvements. Proposed renovations include installing air conditioning, repainting facilities, and replacing kitchen equipment, with execution expected to begin in the second half of 2027.
In Barrocas, Councilor Sinésio Lima criticized infrastructure issues stemming from the previous administration. During a council session, he highlighted past structural failures, including the collapse of a daycare center roof that he claims to have warned about prior to the incident. Lima defended current municipal interventions aimed at improving school conditions and addressing labor-related legal pendencies left by the former administration.
