Local councils in Cheongyang and Gwacheon conclude regular sessions

Local councils in Cheongyang and Gwacheon have concluded their regular sessions, focusing on administrative audits and budget settlements.

The Cheongyang County Council completed an 18-day session, adopting a report containing 167 points for improvement, including 12 corrective actions and 76 processing requests. The council also approved the 2025 fiscal year settlement, noting a net surplus of 27.6 billion won. Additionally, new ordinances were passed, including one to support the healing tourism industry.

Meanwhile, the Gwacheon City Council concluded a 16-day session, issuing 88 requests for administrative improvement following its audit. During the session, council members called for a special audit of the Gwacheon Cultural Foundation and urged for increased transparency and stricter verification in public contracting processes. The council plans to review the implementation of these recommendations in upcoming sessions.
