Local councils in Constanța and Lugoj approve budget and urban updates

Local councils in Romania are addressing municipal administration and budget adjustments. In Constanța, the Local Council is meeting to discuss a 2026 budget rectification. The proposal includes reducing allocations for several infrastructure and investment projects, such as developments in Tăbăcărie Park, the rehabilitation of the Mamaia maritime walkway, and slope stabilization works. Additionally, funding for stormwater drainage studies in the Palazu Mare and Universitate neighborhoods is set to decrease by 621,000 lei. The budget also involves redistributing PNRR funds for energy efficiency projects between different technical and theoretical high schools.

In Lugoj, the Local Council has adopted several decisions regarding education and urban development. These include appointing representatives to school administration boards and interview commissions for school leadership positions. The council also approved various urban planning regulations, including access rules for the Andrei Mocioni pedestrian zone and several Zonal Urban Plans (PUZ) for residential, commercial, and collective housing developments.
