Local councils in Yesan and Hapcheon hold extraordinary sessions
The Yesan County Council has commenced its 327th extraordinary session, scheduled to run until the 23rd. During this period, the council will review 23 items, including ordinances and support agreements. Members have raised several local issues, such as the need for systematic support for historical and cultural heritage, expanding pest control for rice crops to twice a year, and improving old drainage systems to prevent flooding during heavy rains.
As part of the session, council members are conducting field inspections of 28 major project sites to monitor progress and identify potential issues. These sites include various community development projects, smart farm complexes, and environmental infrastructure.
In a separate session, the Hapcheon County Council opened its 303rd extraordinary session, which will last until the 30th. This session marks the first time the council will specifically report on and monitor how previous administrative audit findings have been addressed by the local government. The council is reviewing 35 items, including administrative plans and various ordinances.
Key discussions in Hapcheon include calls to resume delayed road construction projects to reduce resident inconvenience and requests to expand safe play areas and indoor facilities for the county's declining youth population.
