Local cultural celebrations held in Canjáyar and Doña Mencía

Various local cultural and community events are taking place in Spanish municipalities. In Canjáyar, the XIV Oil Day and XVI Business Showcase are scheduled for October 11. The event aims to promote local olive oil, traditional crafts, and disappearing trades. Activities include a traditional breakfast, a parade, music from the Charanga ‘Los Notas’, and an olive stone throwing contest. Additionally, the III Craft Meeting will feature artisans specializing in esparto and esparto grass work.

In Doña Mencía, the XXXII Senior Week is underway at the San Pedro Mártir Pensioners' Home. The program includes nutritional lectures, cookie-making workshops, a cultural trip to Iznájar, and theatrical performances. The week will conclude with a traditional tribute to Ángeles Recio Lama, featuring a communal meal and musical performances.
