Reggio Emilia moves to reclaim Zucchi parking area

The administration of Reggio Emilia is moving toward the early termination of the concession for the Zucchi parking area, currently managed by Reggio Emilia Parcheggi (Rep). The resolution, expected to become definitive around October 4, would allow the municipality to reclaim the site before the original 2038 expiration.

According to Giovanni Tarquini, leader of the Civica per Reggio list, the agreement is subject to two conditions. First, an independent professional must prepare a recovery plan to certify all of Rep's liabilities. Second, the compensation paid by the municipality must be sufficient to settle all of the company's outstanding debts, effectively clearing its financial obligations in exchange for the release of the concession.
