Local cultural festivals held in Yongin and Gangneung

Yongin Special City will host the ‘2026 Singal-o Street Urban Regeneration Festival’ on October 24 at Singalcheon. The event, co-organized by the Yongin Cultural Foundation and the Singal Urban Regeneration Field Support Center, aims to showcase the achievements of urban regeneration projects through performances, cultural experiences, and food programs involving residents, merchants, and artists.

Activities include street performances, a children's flea market, and various hands-on workshops. The festival will also feature musical performances by local students and professional artists, including singers Ali and Shin Yong-jae. To promote sustainability, organizers plan to use multi-use containers to reduce disposable waste.

In a separate regional event, the Humanities City Project Center at Catholic Kwandong University successfully conducted a ‘Citizen Humanities Experience Group Tour’ in Gangneung. Linked to the ‘Baking Village Ojuk’ festival at Ojuk Hanok Village, the tour allowed participants to explore local bakery culture and attend live performances. Participants will act as ambassadors by sharing their experiences on social media to promote local festivals.
