Matteo Fiorini, prominent San Marino politician, dies

San Marino is mourning the death of Matteo Fiorini, a prominent political figure who passed away following an incurable illness. Fiorini held several of the Republic's most significant institutional roles, including serving twice as Capitano Reggente, acting as Secretary of State, and serving as a council member for three legislatures.

A founding member of the Repubblica Futura party and a former member of Alleanza Popolare, Fiorini was also recognized for his involvement in the San Marino Bene Comune political project alongside the Partito dei Socialisti e dei Democratici (PSD). Political colleagues have described him as an intellectually vigorous and respectful leader who emphasized the importance of dialogue and principled debate in public life.
