Local development initiatives reported in Oravița and Oradea

In Oravița, the local administration has completed several modernization projects at the town hospital, which serves the Caraș Valley region. Improvements include the insulation of all three hospital buildings, the installation of photovoltaic panels and heat pumps, and the creation of a new outpatient clinic. Additionally, departments for dermatology, pediatrics, surgery, and orthopedics have been modernized, and a new CT scanner has been installed. Plans are also underway for a heliport and the development of medical recovery and balneophysiotherapy sections to utilize local thermal waters.

In Oradea, the municipality is finalizing the results of its sixth participatory budgeting program for 2026. Officials are currently centralizing physical and online votes to determine which citizen-proposed projects will receive funding. Of the 55 projects submitted this year, 39 were declared eligible, representing an eligibility rate of approximately 71%. Local authorities noted that while the total number of submissions decreased slightly compared to previous years, the quality of the proposals has improved.
